I'll come back when you call me.

All pictures courtesy of Bethany.

It's been awhile. Since I last had a real update, Bethany came and visited. The night after she came we took the train to Oslo. It ended up arriving 40 minutes late, so we were late getting into the city. Our hotel was pretty small, but had everything we expected.

We spent two nights there. Went to Vigelandsparken, the Kon-Tiki Museum, the Viking Ship Museum, Akerbrygge, Akershus, and the the square by Nationaltheatret. At one point, we were kinda lost and ended up walking through a decently sized hospital complex. Next to it was a large cemetary, which was a bad building decision.
After getting back, we went to a Stavanger Oilers game, sitting right by the crazy fan section. Pretty entertaining.

Monday, we had an IKEA trip and I bought the most amazingly awkward stuffed animal ever! It is a cross-breed between a panda and a millipede (except with only four legs).

Finally, Tuesday we went to the Art Walk, which includes the carving of a star that collects water in order to communicate with angels and "other flying creatures."Since then, I haven't really done much. I went to the doctor today to get a lump on the side of my chest checked out. Turned out to just be a lymph node, but I have to go back in for an ultrasound and mammogram to be sure. I was so scared that it would be something serious and I wouldn't be able to go to New Zealand.

I haven't gotten my class schedule yet. Right now, I'm enrolled in Introduction to Spoken Maori and am waiting on department permission to enroll in everything else. I will update with my class schedule once I get it.

Jack's Mannequin is touring Australia but won't be going to New Zealand at all. That makes me sad. I was hoping to catch them if they did. However, there is so much stuff going on there when I first arrive! Just tons of festivals! I'm really excited and, hopefully, I can meet people who would like to go to some of the stuff. One of the festivals has music, art, and theatre performances. One of the performances is a burlesque show that I really, really want to see. Tickets are selling fast, so I hope I can get one before they sell out.

I'm out for now.
